Compute Canada

Compute Canada is an umbrella organization that includes most of the computational consortiums in Canada. Consortiums are organizations like WestGrid and SHARCNET. Each consortium offers a variety of systems for doing computational work. The current policies of the consortiums require that you have a Compute Canada account before you can create any consortium accounts.

To create a Compute Canada account:
  1. Log into the Compute Canada website: https://ccdb.computecanada.org/
  2. Click Register.
  3. Enter the requested information.
  4. For the institution enter "WestGrid: University of Alberta"
  5. For the sponsor you must enter Dr. Jack Tuszynski's CCRI: uuc-734-01
  6. Wait for your account to be approved.
After your Compute Canada account is approved you will be able to create consortium accounts, e.g. for WestGrid or SHARCNET.
