Through computer aided-drug design our lab has identified a novel colchicine derivative that in preliminary testing has showed great promise in treatment of cancer. My project is to examine the compounds applicability to treat different types of cancer, and more specifically find cancer types that the drug would be most effective in treating. Overall, the goal of the project is to generate pre-clinical data on the effectiveness of the compound with the ultimate goal of bringing the compound to the clinic to help the millions of people that suffer from cancer worldwide.
